Sunday 30th April welcomes a Tractor Ted Treasure Trail to the Wonder Woods and all young children are welcome! The trail will start with the famous little green tractor and children will follow the Tractor Ted Fun Farm Fact signs around the park. Some signs will be hidden in the Wonder Woods – perfect for adventurous play – and will finish with the Tractor Ted Bouncy Castle (a 5 metre high giant green bouncy tractor ) total heaven for young children!
Everyone will receive a sticker and certificate of excellence; perfect for show ‘n’ tell back at school and will be entered into a prize draw to win some Tractor Ted goodies.
Wonder Woods was opened in October 2016 after William and Ailsa Stonor wanted to enhance the visitor experience for younger folk.
Timber Play, the brilliant people behind the Diana, Princess of Wales, Playground in Hyde Park, were invited to create a stimulating and fun environment for all children up to the age of 15. Located on the edge of woodland, the wooden and steel structures are designed to embrace the grassed landscape and as new saplings take root and grow, this truly becomes a captivating wooded wonderland for children of all ages.
For younger children, the play area has a raised play house and slide surrounded by soft sand, leading to the water pump where children can divert water through channels and water wheels. Plus see-saw, wobble dish, rocking deer (a nod to the fallow deer in the park) and swings are close by.
Further into the woods older children will enjoy the challenge of the wooden climbing structure that leads to a rope climbing forest, connecting to a tree house with slide and 50 metre zip wire and tunnels adding to their fun.
Lots of seating has been created, the Pit Stop café is close by too, offering coffee, drinks and artisan snacks for the whole family. Bathrooms and baby changing facilities are adjacent to the café.
