What's on at Hungerford Food Festival

A full day of local foodie fun with over 40 stalls, sizzling street food, live cooking demonstrations, Cook-Off competition, pumpkin challenge, apple quiz and lots more – kindly sponsored by Doves Farm, Blandy's at Inglewood and the newly re-opened Three Swans Hotel in Hungerford.

Come hungry as there will be plenty of stone baked pizza, Thai curry, burgers, sausages, paella, veggie specials and lots more. Local producers will range from charcuterie to chillis, beef to bread - with local lamb, rapeseed oil, beer, mead, confectionary, liqueurs, cheese, cakes, honey in between.

Live demos will include The Perfect Risotto by Blandy's at Inglewood Head Chef Gert Pienaar, How to Pickle by Masterchef Semi-finalist Ollie Hunter from The Wheatsheaf and Hungerford’s very own Nicholas Lumley aka The Old Trout Smoker!

One of the UK’s top organic and sustainable food experts, Lawrence Woodward, will talk about where our food comes from and the choices we all face in the supermarket. Newbury & District Beekeepers will demonstrate where honey comes from and The Naked Grape will be running a bar with local beers, ciders & other tipples.

Hungerford Allotments will inspire people to grow their own and My Apple Juice will be happy to turn your surplus apples into fresh, delicious juice. Teas and cakes will be provided by Hungerford Scouts and there will be hands-on foodie activities for children.

There is a chance for everyone to get their pinnies on and get involved: to enter this year's Hungerford Cook-Off. If you have a prize pumpkin bring it along to enter the Pumpkin Challenge. Or test your apple knowledge on My Apple Juice's Apple Quiz. For more details email hungerfordfoodfestival@gmail.com
